It looks like linkdumps are all I have time for this week. Here are a few things that have graced my browser in the last day or two…
It turns out that Kenneth the page Bobby Jindal and other Republicans are lying about the supposed $8 billion high speed train from “Disneyland to Las Vegas.” Huh. Go figure.
In the mid 80s, comics great Steve Rude submitted a Johnny Quest story he’d penciled to comics legend Alex Toth for comments/advice. Toth returned the art with his notes, which were scathing and deeply critical of the visual storytelling. It turns out that hidden inside all that invective is some very good advice for visual storytellers. (Hey CCV film students! Click the link and read the notes!)
This is one of the great comic art crits- Toth knew more in his Uvula about panel to panel illustration than most comic artists after him. Thanks for the link.
Since 2004 Candleblog has been the online journal of Vermont filmmaker, Bill Simmon. Bill and his wife, Emily, use Candleblog as a repository of pop culture ephemera, amusing anecdotes, occasional deep thoughts and anything else they think is web-worthy.

Well, when you can’t get your way being honest about an issue, you lie about it. Simple GOP math.
