Tagnabit!

My friends at Found Line in Burlington have developed this really simple, elegant and USEFUL web app for aggregating various tagged social media feeds in one spot. It’s cleverly called tagnabit. Based upon their successful Vermont Town Meeting Day aggregator and subsequent Alliance for Community Media conference site, tagnabit lets you enter a tag of your choice (like “sxswi” or “American Idol” of “fail“) and as long as all the varied Internet users out there in the world are using that tag with their social media content, it will show up in tagnabit.

I can tell you from experience that this is terrific way to organize content around an event like a conference, and I can imagine it will be useful in other applications too. Try it out, it’s free!

On a related note, I’ve been meaning to link to Bradley Holt’s blog post about the semantic web for a while and this seems like a good opportunity. Bradley is one of the Big Brains at Found Line and this post helped me (a quintessential end user) grok some basic web concepts that I only sort of vaguely understood. It’s a quick read and worth your time, particularly if you’re enamored with Content Management Systems with WYSIWYG editing interfaces.
