		<description>Mad Men. Well, I have to say something about this twilight sleep thingy. I gave birth in both 1964 and 1969; both times my husband (your father, Bill) was in the labor room with me for the entire time. 

I was given no drug to make me sleep (or crazy, thankfully, although I guess I&#039;d not remember that part anyway). I was encouraged by the hospital staff to get up and walk around the room to help the pain. 

I don&#039;t think any of my friends mentioned anything about such a drug, either. In fact, until reading this entry, I never heard about such a drug. Not saying it didn&#039;t happen — women were certainly considered lesser creatures (hysterics) in those days.</description>
