"Scientists from the RAND Corporation have created this model to illustrate how a 'home computer' could look like in the year 2004. However the needed technology will not be economically feasible for the average home. I like the big wheel. That must be for scrolling.
Also, I think it's nice that Eisenhower took an early interest in home computing. The future sucks: no ray gun, no hover car... oh wait, I guess it's not so bad...

Also fascinating is Ike's war-bonnet which is fastened to the back of his head with a lucite rod.
But seriously: isn't it cool that part of the vision of the future is that you'd need an extensive passive monitoring system. Such a massive array of analog meters is worthy of a nuclear reactor. "Oh look, Madge, the master pressure blancing flange is showing that little Timmy has reduced his H2O utilization rate to match Henry Junior's..." The future sucks: no ray gun, no hover car... oh wait, I guess it's not so bad...

I like the chrome steering wheel, it's the best! Ike was totally waiting for Grand Theft Auto-Vice City, but Mamie heard about all the chicks and totally shut down any government funding of GTA. It wasn't until the order expired, that they could actually start writing code for it.
