the nerd lifeOkay, I did it. I took the advice of these good folks and went and got two (yes *two*) 1.75 litres of cheap Fleischmann's Vodka (which is okay, not ass-bad) and ran them through a brand-new Brita charcoal filter unit (the 48oz waterfilter pitcher type). In fact, I ran both through twice. I chilled one bottle in the freezer (it pours like corn syrup) for variety and just did a taste test. Oh man, that is good vodka. Now I'm not an afficianado of vodka. I do drink a lot of booze, but I mostly drink Jameson whiskey. I rarely drink vodka straight, unless it's with a little lime juice or vermouth. But the taste of this filtered stuff is great. And the cold stuff is so highly smooth, no wonder they call it "vodka". What a great idea. I think I paid $12 per 1.75L (or whatever the state charges these days). Shit that makes great vodka. Oh yeh... shit.... fuckin' good vodka.
