vermontOkay, I realize that filling a newspaper w/ interesting content is tough. But yesterday's "Vermont" section of our much reviled Burlington Free Press featured the main headline: "VT Population To Pass North Dakota". Okay, that's great - but in the article you note that this is forecast to take place by the 2030 census. In fucking 2003?. Talk about a race of glacial magnitude. Great - just great.

2000 census:

Vermont population = 608,827
Only state w/ fewer people = Wyoming
Wyoming population = 493,782
pct of pop over 65 in 2000 = 12.7%
pct of pop over 65 in 2030 ~ 24%
