Why not just roll good old magnetic tape? Sounds like Apple's software sucks ass if you have so much trouble. Why bother? Do other people have this much trouble? If anyone has a Palm Pilot, you can plug a mic right into it and record onto a 1 Gig SD card, or a 4 Gig Life Drive.

Why not switch to something more reliable?

I suggest having a backup system of "old technology" running simultaneously. That way you are assured of getting every minute.

Mark, what about this post makes you think I was having technological difficulties? I was, but I didn't say that I was. To answer your question: without going into details, there are lots of reasons why I am sticking with FCP for now. You will just have to trust me that I am aware of the alternatives and they are all worse than the badness I am currently experiencing.

I'm not scolding you, I just thinking from a tech and back-up standpoint, you'd want a way to cover your ass, so you don't loose any part of the conversation.

It's a drag that you lost all of the main body of the conversation with Zephyr and everyone, so it just seems that there are still some major bugs that need to be worked out. In other posts and comments you had talked of problems with AIF (or whatever it is) format that was causing all sorts of problems. Granted I know nothing about podcasting, nor do I desire to know about it, but it just seems that there ought to be ways to back up the recordings, so you don't loose anything.
