Gosh, I don't know, Bill. I was clicking around and hit on BSG last weekend and tried, I swear I tried, to like it. It seemed a little too ... clean - "clean" in a "3's Company" kind of way. This episode involved a long-haired woman staring at a long-haired (black hair) man w/ sunken, buggy eyes, and trying to convince him to .. or maybe he was trying to convince her that ... I don't know, they were in a cell on a ship while ships were pouring missiles at each other and some kind of gambit was taking place, or maybe a gamble, where high ranking officials were place on the respective bridges of what appeared to be captains, ready to kill somebody should something happen and then the situation resolved and everyone got to stand down and were greatly relieved and having been some days in preparation a splendid time is guaranteed for all and tonight Mr. Kite is topping the bill. Know what I'm saying?

Dude, BSG is not written for n00bs. Just watch the mini series--it's avaiable from Netflix and it's not a huge committment. If you like that, check out season one--10 episodes. Then by the time you get up to Ressurection Ship part 2 (the last 10 minutes of which you saw on Friday), you will be eating your words.
Seriously, the writers of the show don't spend any time making it easy on newcomers, which is one of things I like about it--it doesn't waste time on exposition--it just moves forward. BSG evangelism

Hey, thanks for the link, Bill. It warmed the cockles of my heart. (I think. I'm not really sure what that means.)
DanZ... Three's Company?! You are one wacky guy. Like Bill said, the story is not going to mean much to you from one episode that is third in a line of cliff-hangers in the middle of the second season. I too was very skeptical about the show after sampling part of an episode out of sequence. The post Bill linked to is largely about how my doubts were eroded in the face of the show's quality. I really wasn't someone who had ANY interest in it until a lot of people recommended it to me and I saw the miniseries as a result. That's really the place to start. BSG evangelism

I know, I know - I just like teasing. I'm sure it's great. Unfortunately, I find it hard to top "Family Guy" and "Wonder Showzen". They're well suited to my laser-like attention span.
