Ha HA! The baby headed thing was funny, but his other work is GRAND! The blame fist is cool, as is the sycophant: "As a viewer walks past, the head follows them on a track, plying them with compliments such as "I really like your hair" and "You look really hot!""

Yeah, I liked those too.
MyDeathSpace was strangely compelling and tragic. Lots of car accidents, with and without alcohol. There were also lots of alcohol related deaths. Many were shot. I had to look at the whole thing. It's sad. Thursday linkdump

eve, the banding of jupiter's atmosphere is identical in structure and origin to the banding of earth's atmosphere. The only difference is chemical composition and scale which make it more visually defined in the Jovian instance. The banding on earth is given names like "trade winds", "horse latitudes" and "doldrums". These 'bands' are caused by global rising and sinking of the atmosphere in coordinated rolls of constant latitude, like an egal holding a keffiyeh in place. The earth has two such rolls in the northern and two in the southern hemishpere, one at the equator and one at each pole. This diagram may help. The most important features to note are:
Also note that on first glance the rolling bands of air should roll like dough rolled by hand across a floured board, but at the surface you'll notice black arrows veering either left or right. This veering is simply due to the fact that the winds are sliding over the surface of a rapidly rotating ball. For those readers who are unclear on the cause of this effect, take the northern trade winds (easterlies) as an example, flowing between 0 and 30° north latitude. If you were riding one of those arrows, you'd experience a veering to the right (as you look at the diagram on your computer they veer to your left, but the air traced by the arrow itself curves to its right). The reason is that it originates at a high latitude where the earth's rotational speed is modest. As it travels south, it is flowing over land that is traveling faster and faster (fastest at the equator). It's not that the air is veering to the right, it's that the ground it's traveling over is moving east faster and faster. While it appears to veer, it's actually being left behind. You would experience the same thing in a car on a highway as you shift into lanes to your left but tried to maintain a constant speed. Because traffic is faster the farther left you move, the more the traffic would leave you behind. The analogy is weak because i've used relative motion as the basis for the analogy and as an abstract layer above the physical manifestation of the material world it lends itself less functional for the layman, regardless of the adequacy of the relationships. Also worth noting in the diagram is the veering of the winds heading north under the temperate cell ("Ferrel Cell"). These winds arc strongly to their right as they head north. This arc is what guides the paths of hurricanes in our southern atlantic and steers them slowly north and then ever rapidly north-east, eventually east-northeast. Thursday linkdump

The egg/equinox thing doesn't work with a hard-boiled or raw egg. It only works with a FRIED egg, over easy. Or was it an omelette? But I'm pretty sure it can't be a broccoli or sausage omelette.
