Studio 60 is really good (duh)

pop cultureEmily and I just watched the pilot for the new Aaron Sorkin-helmed NBC dramedy, Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip. It's really quite good. I'd read the script online and the televised realization did not disappoint. It's going to be a great show.

Some of you Aaron Sorkin heads may be asking "Wha??? How did you see the pilot? It hasn't premiered yet!" Well it turns out you can rent the thing from NetFlix. Pretty smart marketing on NBC's part actually. It gets people talking (and blogging) about the show before the premiere. What would REALLY be smart is to release the pilot online, but NBC has been molasses-slow at embracing the new model.

"Those young whipper snappers and their MTV video games! Always trying to steal our IP! Goodness knows you can't let the little thieves put up 3-minute SNL videos on that YouTube contraption without permission! Why, ANYONE could see it and... link to it and... then MORE people would think it's funny and then... the clip would spead like some kind of... virus!"
