- I voted for [Dubie] because I wanted to split the high and low constitutional offices, not to mention Exec and Leg. I like governmental inertia--it's our best defense against government.
I'm all for preventing government from doing too much damage, but I think a government that actually works for you effectively is superior to one that merely doesn't fuck up our lives.
Matt Dunne is smart, pragmatic, reasonable and very good at being a politician (look at the obscene amout of $ he's raised!). He actually has a chance to oust a Vermont incumbant -- something that is traditionally very hard to do.
I'm publicly throwing my support to Dunne despite my previous criticisms about his campaign not being the best when it comes to using the internet.
They still need to work on that a bit. The email I just received from the campaign includes the text of a Rutland Herald article about a Dunne/Dubie debate, but does not include a link to the online version of the article. I had to go to the RH website and do a seach to find it so I could link to it in this post. It's here.
If you would like to contribute to Dunne's campaign, click here. The campaign's website is here.
You should all vote for him, if only because he has had the good taste to not ever use "Git 'r Dunne" in any promotional materials.
UPDATE: I sent the Dunne campaign an email telling them about the "endorsement" and received the following reply:
- Bill,
I am rushing out the door but thank your for the endorsement. I will pass it onto Matt tonight.
I read your blog frequently!
The text version of the email may not have had the link and that was an over site. However the htlm version did, as the article was link in the Rutland Herald mast head.
Next time we will include a more prominent link... Thank you for all of your help and support!
Adam
I checked, and yes, the masthead did indeed link to the article. Now I feel stupid. Git 'r Dunne.
