digital culturePicky-filter Alert: Proceed "below the fold" only if you like being annoyed by little things...

the winner of the 207 horribly shitty design award goes to verizon. they are providing me w/ relatively decent DSL service on a dry loop (it's been a month). but then i checked my online account and saw this page. there are about a dozen serious design problems, not the least of which is magnified (my edit) in the middle of the image. apparently, i've got a NEGATIVE PERCENT OF CAPACITY rating. Shit.

Other Problems:

  • garish color
  • visual vibrations
  • five zones of interactivity (menus, options, choices) requiring extensive eye travel and having to figure out the layout
  • unreadable red-on-dark-gray headings of 'folder' list in center of screen (the first place the eye rests).

what else? i don't know. it just sucks so bad i can't deal.
