Julius Popp's "Bitfall" Water ProjectMonday, July 02 2007 @ 04:05 PM At a favorite site I browse frequently (Information Aesthetics), they posted a link to a brief video of Julius Popp testing his waterfall image display thingy. Here's a YouTube Link. The waterfall works kind of like a dot-matrix printer, although there's a cool stretching that occurs as the water accelerates as it falls.
Links at Information Aesthetics take you to some interesting related material (using water as a communications medium).

First I thougth that using "sesquipedalian" was just a badass thing to do. then I used to think that you were the aesthete and I was the sesquipedalian and was leading readers down the path of the third culture. Then I thought that maybe I was the third culture, and you were the artist, leading the sesquipedalian down the path of aesthetics. But now I konw that I am the aesthete, you are the antisesquipedalian and Popp is the whining something-or-other.

Hey, we watched your DP'd courtTV episode. While the subject was stupid, the photography was stylin'!! Sue and I paid close attention to it and pictured you yelling at your slaves things like "goddamn it! can't i get a freakin' negative video effect in here? I mean, it's not like i'm the goddamn director or anything!" Good job. I hope it paid well.
