Is there an artificial God?

skepticismThe late Douglas Adams, writer, humorist, thinker of deep thoughts and self-described "radical atheist," delivered a wonderful "debate" with himself back in 1998 about the possible existence of an "artificial God." He points out that money is another fictional entity -- that is, an entity that only exists because humans say it exists, but we would be foolish to, upon realizing the fictitious nature of currency, suddenly stop using it.

I actually don't know if I completely buy Adams' central point, but it's a joy to listen to him talk.
