Advil is neither a liquid nor a gel

life of billI'm taking advantage of BTV's free WiFi service in the terminal, sitting here awaiting my traveling partner and sipping my Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Vermont Country Blend coffee. I'm already sore on my backside from sitting in the van on the way to the airport. I guess my injury didn't heal up quite in time. I bought one of those neck pillows at the gift shop and a bottle of Advil and hopefully with some creative placing of the "neck" pillow I'll make it through the flights okay. We're flying to Minneapolis via Newark on Continental, for those of you keeping score at home.

The TSA agent saw my newly purchased Advil and handed me a baggie for it. I didn't argue with him that Advil is neither a liquid nor a gel and therefore not subject to random bebagification. He looked serious. Then once I got to the security checkpoint, the security screener made me feel dumb when she pointed out that the Advil didn't need to be in the baggie. "Advil is neither a liquid nor a gel," she said, her scowl of derision barely masked by her well-trained greeting smile.

I hate air travel.
