Thursday linkdump

world wide webQuick note: I see that the left sidebar (user functions, who's online, what's new, etc.) is showing up weird in Safari, and by weird, I mean way down on the page and not up top where it belongs.  I'll be trying to find out why and fix that, but really, you Safari users should just switch to Firefox.  I mean, come on.
It's been a while since we've had a good, satisfying linkdump around here.  I teach on Thursdays so my prime dumping time is eaten up by the broadening of young minds.  Here are a few items that would have been posted over the last several days of hacktastic fun.  It's not much, but it's late...

[rant] Also, due to some dumb channel exclusivity rule, there is no longer a CW affiliate available in this cable/satellite market, meaning I can't watch Kevin Smith's new TV show, Reaper.  Even though this Wikipedia page says there's a CW affiliate on Comcast channel 20 (formerly WPIX out of NYC), my TiVo says they're wrong.  No Reaper. [/rant]

Tomorrow Emily and I are driving down to Bennington where I will meet up with my old friend Alexis (who lives in NYC and who I never get to see) and we will present a bunch of films at the Bennington Museum.  We're even being paid for our appearance!  And being put up in a motel overnight!  Woo hoo!  Party down ta Bennington, by Jeezum crowbar!
