Video Free Burlington-esque flash site!

world wide webFor several years, Flameape and I did a live TV show on VCAM channel 15 called Video Free Burlington.  Sometimes we talked or took phone calls or had guests, but mostly, we curated a show of whatever weird, off-the-wall A/V content we could put our hands on -- edgy, artsy animations, old cheesy TV commercials, wretched sci-fi films or musical performances -- anything that made us giggle or gasp in awe made the cut.  It was a little bit like that Negativland radio show, Over the Edge, except is was TV.

Well I just saw this flash site linked from BoingBoing and it's almost exactly like watching VFB, except we would mix our media more, so when you were looking at some bad old SF movie, you'd hear strange electronic music mixed with self-help advice from Dr. Phil and sometimes live on-air callers too.

I miss that show.  Someday I'll return to that format.  It had the benefit of being easy to do without much in the way of preparation AND it was creatively satisfying much of the time.  If and when I do return to live culture-jamming TV, it'll be that much better because I can netcast it live to a wider audience than was possible in the old days.
