Just in case anyone out there hasn't heard about this yet, there's a guy blogging from the 10th floor of an office building in New Orleans. He has a genny, food and water, and a satellite internet connection. His posts are... disturbing. New Orleans is a mess--that you know--but you don't really get it until you read what he's writing about the NOPD and the looting. The citizens are shooting at the rescuers. WTF? Read it here.
Boing Boing has been linking to some amazing before and after sat images and of course Wikipedia is doing a great job of staying current. Watching CNN and the Weather Channel can't compare. This is a citizen jounalism event through and through.
By several measures, this will likely be remembered as the worst natural disaster in American history.
